This has been an awesome weekend! But I'm a little sad and lonely tonight. Summer is over. I thoroughly enjoyed my internship and spending my summer with David. Now things are back to how they've been for over a year--both of us in different places! We've done it before and there's a light at the end of the tunnel now (graduation!) but it still makes me sad. And on top of him going home today--he took Jovie with him! He needs the company so I had no problem letting her live with him, but I sure do miss that sweet little girl! (I will see David next weekend--hopefully--but the transition from seeing him everyday to only on the weekends is still hard!)
So, to up my spirits a little, I'll take you back to my weekend!
I think I told you a few posts ago that I got a dress for David's cousin's wedding in October (if I didn't...well...now you know!) It is gorgeous and I am in. love. with. it. Unfortunately it has given me the run-around! The one I tried on in the store had a pick on the front of it, so the lady ordered me one! I got it in the mail earlier this week and it showed up with a stain on it! David came in Friday evening and went with me to exchange the dress. Because the mall I got the dress from only had one in my size, I took the dress to a different mall to see if their store had one. All I'm going to say is that I will never shop at that mall again because they were the rudest people. They literally told me they couldn't look up the dress for me. I was almost in tears! I went back to the first mall and told the woman working the whole story and she was amazing. She looked the dress up and found that 30 stores have my dress in my size and was going to call each of them personally, make them check the dress up and down for spots and hopefully find me one. Keep your fingers crossed for me! I should hear from her sometime Monday or Tuesday. I really really really love this dress and wouldn't go through such the effort if I didn't think it was worth it.
Don't you think it's so pretty?!
Saturday, David and I went shopping for my mom's birthday gift! I can't say yet what it is because she reads my blog (hi mom!) but her birthday is Tuesday so look for it then! She's really going to love her gifts this year ;) We also went to Petsmart because it was "adoption" day. I would adopt every animal there if I could. The puppies were so sweet with their puppy breath and the kitties were pretty cute too. (Not as cute as my little rescue, though!) And did you know you could adopt birds??! I sure didn't... something to think about though, haha! (David said I couldn't have a bird...)
Saturday night, David's sister Susan and her boyfriend Chase came into town for this guy's concert:
Yep, Zac Brown! And it was such a great concert! It was very bluegrassy (pretty sure I just made that a word.) and unique. Quite the experience! Thursday was Chase's birthday and Susan surprised him with the tickets! We think he was excited :)
Susan and the birthday boy! Can you see his excitement?? ;)
Of course we had to get a picture of the girls!! :)
Me and my boy:)
Today was mostly a lazy day for us. David watched some tv and I finished reading "Jane Eyre" --which is a great book! I absolutely loved it! He packed up and left around 4:30pm with my Jovie. I hate goodbyes! I cried and miss them terribly now. To lift my spirits, I did what everyone does when they get upset--I got everything ready for school to start on Wednesday!! (No? Everyone doesn't get excited about getting ready for school? Hmm..) Here is my before picture of my work area:
And here is the after!
It's so much more clean and my books are all lined up! I'm ready to get started with this year. It's going to go by so fast, but I'm ready for it!
I hope everyone has a great Monday tomorrow!

Hi Erin! I am a new follower! I love your dress!
I was just reminiscing about my last year of college and how I felt then- which was exactly like you are feeling. And then I started counting and realized that it was over 7 years ago! Yikes! Where does the time go?! I know everyone says it, but soak up this time. It goes by so quickly and your biggest regret will be not embracing it or wishing it away. . .
And the dress is TOTALLY worth the extra effort! You will get lots of wear out of it, and it looks awesome!
I am glad you had a good weekend! I know how you feel about the separation thing. My boyfriend leaves to go back to school this Saturday. We only live a few blocks from each other here at home, and now we will be two hours apart. It's our third year of being apart during the school year, but it will be weird this time because I have graduated and I'll be home, and he is still in school! But in May he will graduate too and hopefully we won't have to go through that again. I know I will cry on Friday. Every year I say I'm not going to but I can't help it! On a happier note though, your desk looks so nice and neat! i would totally want to do homework there!
Love the new blog design! And the dress! And Zac Brown Band! I've seen them live too, and they put on such a great show!
