First Ever!

Okay y'all, being fall break, I had a lot of time on my hands today, so here is my very first ever applique! My mom had a burp cloth laying around so I decided to applique it:) Just remember, it's my first so hopefully after some practice those mistakes will disappear!! (I can hope right? ha!)

The photo quality is kind of stinky because I took the picture with my phone...because David has my camera in Germany...but you already knew that! :)

Just an Update!

Hi all!

I just thought I'd update a little on life. No pictures because my camera is still in Germany with David! :) Thursday and Friday of this week have been fall break. I don't know what it is, but I just have NO motivation whatsoever to do any schoolwork. It's really not a good thing because I still have 7 weeks left of this semester! I'm tired of reading, studying, tests, papers...I would love nothing more than to work on my sewing and reading books I actually want to read! I'd even take cleaning the house over schoolwork--and I hate to clean! :)

I'm not sure what I'm going to do, but hopefully some motivation will pop up somewhere unexpected soon.

David is having a great time in Germany and I am so happy about that! I love to travel and I was really hoping that he would get the "traveling bug" when he saw how different the world is. He gets to go to Austria for a day next week and I told him I am SO jealous! I've heard it's beautiful there and I would love to go there one day. He also was invited to play soccer with some of the german guys this coming Monday--oh my he is SO beside himself! He has played soccer his whole life, even had a few offers to play professionally, but decided to take the work route, so he is loving the fact that he's going to get to play soccer in a place where soccer is THE sport!

There's not much going on today for me. My mom and her teacher friends were having some kind of planning luncheon today and I was asked to bring their food. We have a new restaurant here called Newk's. Ever heard of it? It's pretty good. But today I got broccoli cheese soup and a side salad. I love broccoli cheese soup from Panera so I thought I'd like Newk's as well---turns out I don't like it so much. I've got to clean up a little bit because mom's friend Mecia is coming in to town for a friend's wedding. And since I would rather clean than study--I'm cleaning! :) I'm also going to work on learning how to applique. That's my newest sewing adventure. Do any of you have any tips for me?? I need all the help I can get!! :)

I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and weekend! I'm headed to the Clemson game tomorrow to watch them retire CJ Spiller's jersey!! Go Tigers! :)

Happy Birthday, David!

It's been lightyears since I've had time to blog. And I still really don't have that much time! I'm looking forward to May when I graduate...hopefully within the 4 days I won't be working I'll be able to find some time to blog! But, today is a very special day! Today is David's 25th birthday...I've been joking with him that he's getting pretty old--he's a quarter of a century old today. He better get to crackin' on his bucket list ;) David has grown from this precious little boy:

...into this handsome man.

I am so lucky.

He came up Thursday evening and spent all day Friday with me. Yesterday, I took him shopping for his birthday present--a new pair of Costa Del Mar sunglasses! He's been needing a pair and he found the perfect pair! He looks GOOD in them! Last night, I cooked him his favorite meal--Prosciutto Pasta and bought him a cookie cake (his favorite kind!). We lounged on the couch all last evening watching America's Funniest Home Videos and just enjoying being together. This morning I made him his birthday breakfast--bacon, scrambled eggs, and cinnamon toast--it was a feast! This evening, he's leaving for Germany for work. He'll be gone for 2 weeks so I have really cherished getting to spend time with him these past few days! (Although the piles of schoolwork have gone untouched!) I know he's going to have a wonderful time, but I'm sure going to miss him! But what better present is there than to get to fly first class, for free, to another country for 2 weeks??!

Happy Birthday, babe! I hope you have a wonderful trip! Be safe and I can't wait until you get home! I hope you have a great day and I'm so glad I was able to help you celebrate your 25th birthday!
