Crafty Me!

I've been feeling pretty crafty lately. Don't ask me why because I don't know! My mom is pretty crafty so I guess you could say it's in my blood, but who really knows. Anyway, I wanted to do something nice for my nursing preceptor from my internship this summer and I decided to make button badges! Here are the ones I made for her:

And here are the ones I made for me!

I secure mine with velcro so that I can change them depending on the season! I really like the black, white, and pink one and the denim and pink one! I can't wait to get some more holiday fabric! :)

Today, Susan and I met David for lunch at Chik-fil-a (yay for lunch tomorrow! I always eat half of a caesar wrap and keep the other half for work!) and then we just hung out at home for most of the afternoon. Since she's going into her first year of teaching, she spent most of her time working on morning greetings and I did some reading for this upcoming semester! We ended up going to Wal-Mart for school supplies and Hobby Lobby for some fabric for me:)

I've really started wanting to be more crafty lately and I figure...once I graduate and get a job, I'm only going to be working 3 days a week--what am I going to do with 4 days off? Crafts! So, David's grandma is letting me have her old sewing machine, which we are picking up on Saturday, and I am going to begin learning how to sew! Anyone have any tips??? I've never done any sewing before so this is all new to me, any tips will be greatly appreciated!!

I did get some cute fabric because I've already planned my first, easy project for this weekend. I'm not going to tell you what it is, but I'll give you a sneak peak of what I'm using for it! :)

Do you like it?! I hope it turns out okay, haha! I'm very likely to mess it up...so wish me luck!

I have to work again tomorrow and Susan is heading back home so all of the fun is over for the week :( But I hope you all have a wonderful ending to your weekend!

Cute stuff!! That material looks like you're going to make an apron? Am I anywhere near close? Haha!

You will LOVE learning to sew! I took a class at Jo-Anns (which I don't recommend) and then a girlfriend offered me a tutorial (which I do recommend). Anything I can't remember, I want a tutorial video on youtube. You will get there- it seems really hard at first, but once you get the hang, it's so fun!
