The One Where You Have No Idea

You have no idea the day I have had.  Goodness it has been busy!

Business first though!  I got my hair cut from a wonderful lady that cuts my mom, grandmother, aunt, and cousin's hair- in hindsight I guess I should have gone there first.  Live and learn I guess!  BUT I do have a picture of my new do!
The sun was in my eyes so I'm kind of squinty, but I like my hair A LOT better than before!  And Marley loves his momma...as always:)

Okay so something you may not know about me.  I'm sure you've noticed the braces.  Believe me, I do not have them at the ripe old age of 22 for fun.  I had jaw surgery in December 08.  The surgery went extremely well.  So well in fact, that a week later I was at David's graduation!  2 days later though, rock bottom hit.  I had a really bad set back and have been dealing with that since 1 week and 2 days after my surgery.  Don't worry though, things are MUCH better now than they were:)  Anywho.  I had an appointment with my ENT today- who by the way reminds me of the jerky frat boy in college, who has since grown up and entered "adult world."  I love him though, he's very honest haha!  My beloved ENT decided it would be in my best interest to have a CT scan today.  TODAY.  Just to make sure my sinuses were all in perfect condition and not causing any of my "problems".  So I trekked all over town today from appointment to appointment.

Good news.  The CT scan was looking pretty good!  No major problems, and I got to see all the bolts and screws holding me together now:)  Crazy fun stuff.  I am so glad to be sitting down now though haha!

I hope everyone has a great weekend.  It's going to be hot....HOT here this weekend so I'm thinking about pooling it up a little.  :)  What all do you guys have going on this weekend?!

The One With the Short List. Then Bed.

1. I hope everyone had a fabulous day!  It was rainy here, but I was okay with that because it cooled everything down a bit!

2. I had my lab practical.  I think I got an A on it.  And I'm happy with that:)

3. My last class of the day was canceled today due to a power outage so no evening test this week!!  I was DEFINITELY okay with that!  I came home and studied for my anatomy test tomorrow!

4. I am EXHAUSTED.  I can't wait to take a break from all the studying!

Tomorrow is Thursday which means only 2 days until the weekend for all you working folks out there:)  Enjooyyyyy!

Erin

ps- I still don't like my hair.  I'm going back to the hair dresser on Friday at noon to see if she can fix me up a little better.  Hopefully I'll like it enough to post some pictures!! :)  Keep your fingers crossed! Haha!

The One With the Loss of Brain Cells

Is it possible to lose brain cells from studying TOO much?!!  I really feel like that is what has become of my brain over this summer semester.  I had my quiz today.  I feel pretty good about it.  However, I am beginning to have a panic attack about my anatomy lab practical tomorrow, my nutrition test tomorrow, and my anatomy exam on Thursday!  There is just TOOO much to study in 2 days!  Helllppp!  I guess I'll just take some advice from a fish (you know...Dory from Finding Nemo?!  If you haven't seen that movie, you really should.) "JUST KEEP SWIMMING!"  I'll figure it out eventually.

I've decided to take a (short) break and update.  Don't you feel so special?!!  Really there isn't much to update.  I had class and lab today.  Oh, and I've studied.  A lot.  The end.

I hope you all are wayyyy less stressed then I am right now! :) Anything interesting happen in your lives today?  Fill me in...I need another break!

The One With No Title

First things first, I couldn't decide on a title for this blog.  The reason?  My brain is fried.  I have 2 weeks of summer school left plus one week of finals.  For the next 2 weeks of school however, I have either a quiz, test, or lab practical every day of class!  So I have been sitting here studying...and avoiding studying...and studying some more.

I couldn't decide on a title for this blog.  Now you understand why.  Also, if this goes on to make no sense, my sincere apologies haha:)

Today I slept in, went to the gym, and laid out by the pool for a few hours.  The clouds came rolling in around 2:00pm so I left before I wanted to.  It turned out to be a blessing in disguise though because I called my hair salon to set up a hair appointment and they just happened to have an opening at 4:15pm today!  I took full advantage of that opportunity.  I got my hair cut shorter than in the past few pictures and I'm not sure how I like it.  I'll post some pictures of it sometime soon after I have figured out how I like it styled best.  You can tell me what you think, I promise I won't be angry if you say it looks hideous!  I'd just like the truth haha!

Then I had dinner (roast, mashed potatoes, and salad w/ feta cheese...YUMMMM!!)  and now have been "studying" for the past few hours.  Ahh well, only a few more weeks!

What did you guys have for dinner?  Anything good?  I love trying new recipes so if you have any, let me know!!

The One With Graduation Day!

This weekend was one for the books!  My cousin Amy graduated from high school!  All of our family and friends went to her graduation on Saturday and had a nice get-together at my grandparents house after for some steak, homemade ice cream, and socializing.  I made a cake a few weeks ago and Amy wanted me to make her one for graduation.  Here is a picture of what it looked like:
She is going to be attending UNC in the fall so I thought she would get a kick out of the cake!  I think she really liked it!

The graduation was at Bojangles Arena...Amy's best friend Karen graduated a day before Amy and her little sisters (who I have been babysitting for since they were 1...and are now 9 and 10!!) said that if they named a place Bojangles Arena, they should sell some fried chicken!  And man did that sound good sitting there waiting for the ceremony to start!  We got front row seats thanks to the wonderful family members who arrived an hour early!  Amy was directly in the row in front of us!
Here she is walking back after she got her diploma- an official high school graduate!

After graduation, we partied until around 10:30pm.  Here are some of my favorite pictures from the night:)
This is a picture of Andy, Karen, Amy and Tyler.  Karen and Amy have been best friends since they were babies...and the two handsome guys beside them are their boyfriends!

Amy and all of her gifts!  Isn't she beautiful?!!

Marley loves to give kisses!!

I guess tomorrow begins another week!  I have quite a full week of studying and tests, but I hope everyone has a wonderful, stress-free week!

The One Where Summer Hits the City

Summer is finally here!  Well sort of.  I am taking 2 summer courses plus a lab.  In other words- I'm swamped for another two weeks.  I do like having something to do during the day, but the work load is incredible!  I have at least 1 test every week, although most of the time there ends up being a quiz, test, or practical every day of every week!  I guess that's the price you pay for summer courses!

I am currently sitting here updating my blog.  I found a really cool website that has free backgrounds, headers, etc. to create your blog.  I think it's really nice that it's free, because as a recent college graduate- I'm broke!  If you are looking for a cool website to update your blog, I highly recommend going to this site!

Marley (my sweet, sweet puppy) has had a hard day.  Not only did he get neutered today, but he also got micro-chipped, had a shot, and had 2 baby teeth pulled that never fell out.  All of this and he only weighs 4 1/2 lbs.!!  He is currently curled up next to me fast asleep.  So he's asleep and I thought I would take this time to write about what I've been up to lately.

I love to bake and I've recently decided I wanted to learn how to make fondant covered cakes.  You know..the gorgeous wedding cakes?  The more research I did, the more I learned that fondant doesn't  taste very good!  So after more research I found this really great website that has a marshmellow fondant!  I've made a few batches and it tastes pretty good- I think the main thing is getting past the "chewy" part haha!  But I've made one cake so far and it turned out kind of cute!

I've also been down to Greenville, SC to visit David a few times.  I really enjoy the time we spend together, because come fall semester, I will have no free time!  Nursing school/no life here I come! :)  The last time I was down there, the weather was beautiful so David and I took a trip to downtown Greenville (as well as the rest of Greenville!) to the Falls Park!  Here is a picture of us sitting on a bench after we finished our ice cream!

Last weekend, David, my cousin Amy, and her boyfriend Tyler all went to the Brad Paisley concert.  Unfortunately it rained the whole night and we were on the lawn!  We brought 3 umbrellas and multiple blankets, but we still got pretty wet!  Even though it rained, we had SO much fun!  Here is a picture of Amy and Tyler trying not to get wet!

This is my favorite picture I took of Brad that night...I thought it was so cool that his head was between the guitar hero screens!  very creative:)

Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the week!  I'll update in a few days I'm sure.  I've got a cake to bake, a graduation to attend, and a puppy to take care of:)  Love to you all!

The One Where I'm Late, I'm Late, for a Very Important Date!

Okay....so obviously I have been a total slacker in updating my blog regularly.  I warned you about this though in my first blog:)  I'll try and update you on my life since March.  There was my 22nd birthday, spring break, and test after test after test!  I figured out that after spring break, I had at least 1 test every week until finals week (which is next week!)  Monday I had my last anatomy practical and it has been smooth sailing since then.  Tomorrow is my last day of classes at Clemson University- EVER.  Can you believe it?  I surely can't.  It has been so much fun!  Lucky for me,  I have 2 more years of nursing school in Charlotte, haha;)  ANNNDDDD, drum roll please...my cap and gown have arrived!  It's exciting, I know.

Here are some pictures of what has happened since the last time I wrote:

David, me, Jessica, and Jake at Rio's for Mama Nancy's birthday! (Jessie's mom)

We went to the lake on one of the first sunny days!  Marley and I were laying out on the dock catching some rays:)

David and I went to see Jeff Dunham...4th row from the front, dead and center!  Peanut is my favorite:)

I am home for the weekend and will head back on Sunday to get ready for finals.  I can't believe I'm about to graduate!  Go Tigers! :)
