The One with the Princess

Wow. I don't remember the last time I posted. It feels like ages ago. The reason? Nursing school. If you had asked me 2 weeks ago if I thought nursing school would become my life I would have told you no, I still plan to go out, have fun, pretend like I'm still in college! Rigghhhhtt.....well those days are over. I now eat, breathe, and sleep nursing. I have not stopped reading since last Wednesday- my very first day. And surprisingly I love it:) I love everything I read about nursing. Don't get me wrong, some of it is very, very boring....and very, very grotesque...but I love it! Unfortunately, it has left me no time for anything else- including blogging. How completely terrible is that? :(

Not only that, but I haven't been keeping up with dates and stuff. Like today. 13 years ago today, Princess Diana died in a horrible car accident. I was 9 years old and in love with the idea of being a princess:) My grandparents took me to London and I got to walk by her house, see where she lived, walk where she walked and fell absolutely in love. I remember hearing the story unfold on tv and watching the funeral procession, crying my little heart out. I made my mom buy Elton John's Candle in the Wind memorial cd for Princess Di and I listened to it over and over and over again- crying every time. Some little girls loved Cinderella or some other disney princess. But Princess Diana was my princess growing up:) It's still strange for me to think it's been so long, but I suppose that's what time does!

Anyway, on another note, I started this P90X workout thing. Have you heard of it? It's this exercise routine you do for 90 days and it's supposed to just absolutely transform you. I started today. It was horrifying! If I work out like this for 90 days I better be transformed! This man is crazy, but it was awesome! I'm sure I'm going to hurt in the morning, but I just hope I can keep this up because I think it will really work! If you've heard of it or how well it works, leave me a message because I'd love to know if torturing myself will be worth it in the end or if I'm just dying for no reason, ha! :)

Sorry I have been MIA the last week or so, but I've loved catching up on your lives!! Happy Monday night ha!

The One With the Nurse!

I had my first official day of nursing school today!  I was sooo worried about parking and when I arrived on campus....45 minutes early.... there were plenty of spots to choose from!  I was so relieved and the rest of the day just went so smoothly:)  My first professor for my "Concepts of Professional Nursing" class is so energetic!  She was really nice and talked us all in to not worrying about everything and just taking it day by day!  There are about 42 of us in the fall BSN class and I have to say that everyone I met today was really nice.  I hope it stays that way:)  I really hope we will all get to be great friends over the next few years....as we will be in all the same classes together ha!  We got out of class really early so a few of us found a table and sat around, talked, and had lunch.

Then we had Pathophysiology.  This is exactly what the professor said, "This class is going to be boring.  So I'm going to try to make it fun and hopefully it will be fun for you.  Also I really want everyone to pass.  But not everyone will. Because this is a hard class.  But I'm really rooting for you to pass."

Great!  There went all the non-worrying thoughts haha!!  I'm going to bust my butt to keep an A in that class, hopefully I will succeed with that goal!:)  A few of us have already decided we are going to have a study group and get together a lot.  I don't know about you, but it helps me to be able to talk to someone about what I'm learning.  I feel like if I can explain it then I understand it!  And I'm going to HAVE to understand all of this.  I mean...you wouldn't want a nurse working on you who got C's all the way through nursing school would you??  I know I wouldn't....

Anyway, I'm excited about tomorrow because we will be assigned a clinical day (either Tues. or Thurs.) and we get to order our uniforms, stethescopes, and BP cuffs!! Yayyyy!! I can't wait to get all of that stuff and get the ball rolling with this!  I've already got homework assignments and bookoos(sp??) of chapters to read.  I suppose this will be my life for a while!  I'll let you know how the uniform stuff goes tomorrow:)

Did everyone have a good Wednesday?  Can't wait to hear about them!

The One Where School Begins!

The day has finally come!  I start nursing school tomorrow and I'm excited and nervous ha!  I'm not nervous about the school part but I hear parking is awful there (I actually had the chair of the nursing department tell me today that she would get there at 7:30am for a 9:00am class because parking is so bad....omggggg.), I don't know anyone, and I really don't know what to expect!  But I'm more at ease tonight because I went over to the campus today to "walk my schedule."  Don't laugh at me ha!:)  All through college I walked my schedule the day before the semester started so I wouldn't get lost and make it easier the next day!

While I was walking I ran into two professors of the nursing school and actually found out that they will be 2 of my professors this semester...how exciting!  I was talking to them about how I recently graduated from Clemson and one of them had actually graduated from Clemson as well:)  Obviously we have an automatic bond now haha:)  It's always exciting to find someone who went to Clemson and shares my love of my school!!

Now if you weren't laughing about me walking my schedule you might laugh at this:  I have already set out my outfit for tomorrow as well as packed my lunch!  I have the cutest little ADPi lunch bag that I'm using:)  I figured it would be in my best interest to go ahead and get everything ready so I'll be on time since I apparently have to get to campus at 7:30 for a 9 am!!

I hope you all had a great day and look for an update on my first day of class tomorrow!! :)

The One Where Amy Goes to College!

Oh man has it been a while since I've written!  I have been so busy this past weekend and I'm just now getting time to write...and I better do it fast because I am exhausted!!  So the BIGGEST news this past weekend is that my cousin Amy moved in to college!!!  I have lots of pictures so I'll show them along the way!

Friday night, my family and I went out to Firebird's, a nice restaurant down the street, for Amy's last meal at home.  It was so good!  I asked the waiter to take a picture of us and he happily obliged!

*From left to right: Uncle Mike, Aunt Diane, Amy, Tyler, me, and my mom!*

We woke up bright and early Saturday morning (we were on the road by 7:30am!!) to hit the road to school!  Amy and Tyler rode with me and my mom because her car was completely full of stuff!!  Here are some pictures of all of us on the road!

*This is an awful picture of the photographer*

*Here is mom driving the car*

*Amy and Tyler all cuddly in the backseat:)*

*Aunt Diane and Uncle Mike in the next car!*

When we finally arrived, we had to unload both cars onto the sidewalk and then go park the cars a mile away! (Well it seemed like a mile...)  You would not believe the piles of stuff all these kids had!  Even the boys brought a lot of stuff!

*Amy's pile!*

Amy is rooming with one of her friends from high school, so they already knew each other and the families got along great- which is a good thing because there were 11 of us total...in a teeny tiny dorm room!  Oh it was definitely crowded...but the finished product looked awesome:)  She's pretty pleased with it!  Not to mention that just outside her dorm is the football stadium, and on the other side of the dorm is the baseball field!  Talk about lucky:)

*Amy lofted her bed and Hope cornered hers right under Amy's!*

*Amy found a cute place to put her picture frames, fridge, and microwave*

*I loved her desk area:) *

We left around 7:00pm and didn't get home until about 10:15ish.  We were all so tired, but so glad to have gotten Amy all moved in.  She starts tomorrow so keep her in your prayers!

Aside from that just a few things:
1) When we got home Saturday night, I spilled astringent aaalllll over my phone.  Joyous way to end a day I think!  It quit working.  I got a new one.
2) I start school on Wednesday and I am soooo nervous.  Why?  It's not like I just finished 4 years of school and graduated or anything....
3) Happy Birthday, mom!  I love you!

The One With Friday Faves Week 3

This week's Friday Fave is to blog about your favorite music you are listening to in your car!  This was a tough one for me because I really enjoy a lot of different types of music and have favorites in each one!!  Right at this very moment I have the new Brad Paisley cd in my car, the new Gloriana cd in my car, and a plethora of christmas cd's in my car...because we all know how I am about Christmas:) But I also really love Michael Buble and MercyMe.  Aahhh decisions are so hard ha!

I suppose though, I'll go with Gloriana since that is exactly what is in my cd player in my car at this very moment.  The whole cd is good, although most of the fast songs are at the beginning of the cd and the slower ones at the end...I kind of find that a tad irritating because when I'm driving an hour and a half to see David I get kind of tired when the slow songs come on ha!  My favorite song of theirs is "Wild at Heart"- and it's also their most popular song out right now!  This is my favorite line from the song--"Stick your hand into my back pocket
Light me up like a bottle rocket
I just wanna free fall for a while"

I just love the part about being with someone, walking with your hand in their pocket on a summer's night...just such a great song:)  I hope you guys will listen to it!!  Here it is on youtube!  Enjoy!!

The One Where She's Watching Friends:)

I am currently piled up on the couch watching...wait for it...FRIENDS!  Yes, my favorite show of all time.  I've gotten so used to spending the evenings and nights with David and since tonight is my first night without him, I've decided piling up and watching Friends will make me feel a little better:)

My summer is officially nearing it's end.  I have started my yearly lack of sleep that starts the week before school.  It seems that stress takes over my body and just wreaks havoc on it.  I haven't slept well for the past few nights and last night I think I got a total of 3 1/2 hours.  David got up at 6:30 to get ready for work so I just followed suit and left for home around 7.  I'm so exhausted now that I hope I'll be able to sleep tonight! :)

Once I got home I headed up to my mom's school to help her finish setting up her classroom, had a doctor's appointment, and had the pleasure of spending the rest of the afternoon running errands with my grandparents!  It was great to spend time with them.  They are getting ready to spend their 53rd wedding anniversary on a trip to Nova Scotia!  How awesome will that be?!  They love to travel and I'm afraid to say I've inherited that love as well:)

I also headed to the mall tonight because my mac laptop has started acting up.  About a year after I got it, my hard drive just...died.  It just up and died.  I lost everything because, well...I didn't know about backing things up.  I'm really not that computer-literate.  They shipped it off, fixed it, and shipped it back.  It worked great for about a year and has recently started having issues coming on and turning off...just taking a rreeallllly long time!  Well I found out tonight that I'm having "processing errors" and that I have to uninstall and re-install the leopard program cd....WHAT?!  Are you kidding me?  Everyone I know who has a mac just raves about them and I love my mac too, but it's just my luck that I get the crazy messed up one.  Aargh.  And right before school starts.  Lovely.

But alas, nothing matters right now because Friends is on:)  So I'm letting go of all my worries for the night and catching up on my show.  Night y'all.

The One Where We Say Goodbye :(

Today is the day I have been dreading all summer.  Yes, I am a worrier, and yes I have been thinking about this day for months.  I am leaving David's today to head back home to start school...meaning I don't know when we will see each other again.  This coming weekend I'll be taking my cousin Amy to college (ahh!!) so I won't be able to see Dave, and then I start school.  All in all, I don't think the first week will be very stressful- I mean it's just a few days of the new school year and they don't normally pile on the work so early.  But I also have to try to find a job.  I'm really nervous about that because 1) it has to be a CNA job to help with my "practice" in hospitals 2) most CNA hires are through people you already know...it's all politics! and 3) I don't like politics!  I'm going to have to go up to the hospital and just ask for CNA jobs.  For some reason that's hard for me and I'm really dreading doing that.  REALLY dreading.  But I have to find a job, and once I do...well so long weekends and so long time to see David.  I know everything will be okay and we'll see each other more than I am imagining right now, but it still sucks.

Marley thinks it sucks too....that makes me feel a little better haha:)

So David and I said goodbye today when he left for work and that was that.
Happy Wednesday everyone.

The One with the Blog Award!!

When I got home I was excited to see that Katie had given me an award!

I'm honored that Katie thought to give me the "It's a Major Award" award!  Hopefully I can do it justice:)  I think I'm supposed to write about 10 things I love.  Katie wrote about 10 things she loves about christmas and gave me the award because I love christmas too!  I'm going to write about 10 things I love about Clemson University!  That's my alma mater and since everyone is moving in this weekend and classes begin on Wednesday, I think it only fitting!  So here goes:

1. I suppose first and foremost, I love Clemson because that's where I met David!  We lived right next to each other my sophomore year and met when he was coming back from soccer one day:)  Ahhh the memories....
2. I also love football season!  Clemson may not have the best football team, but we have the absolute best fans!  I hear all the time about how surprised everyone is that we have the most crazy fans!  But we do, and I love it!
3. I love the fact that Clemson is a "college town".  It's small and everything is all about Clemson all the time!
4. Purple and orange are, aside from pink, my most favorite colors!  Any time I look for clothes, I look first and foremost for orange and purple!  I mean, you have to have outfits for football games right?!
5. I love the fact that Bowman Field always has something going on!  From ESPN's game day, to animal shelters bringing their pets out for adoption, to girls laying out on the first "warm" day in March (ha!) and guys playing frisbee!  Bowman is always so interesting!
6. I love Historic Riggs Field because- that's the soccer field!  I've seen my share of soccer games there because of David and, ashamed to say, but I've yelled at my share of refs! (I was even recognized as the girl who yelled some profanity at the refs one time by some man who sat next to me at a game...woops!)
7. I love the TIGER PAW.  Everything it stands for, everything it is.  The paw rocks.  Simple as that!
8. I love the friends I've made at Clemson. I can't imagine what life would be like without Jess especially!
9. The cadence call!  1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-4, C-L-E-M-S-O-N T-I-G-E-R-S! Fight Tigers, Fight Tigers, Fight, Fight, Fight!
10. 31-14 (Clemson vs. South Carolina) NUFF SAID. :)

Now I'm passing on the award torch to:

and

Thanks again, Katie!!  Hope y'all enjoyed my trip down memory lane haha!

The One Where Time Marches On

Let me start by apologizing that I haven't written in a few days!  These are my last few days with David before I start school and won't be able to come down every week/weekend!  So I've been spending as much time as possible with him:)  This past weekend, we met Jess and Jake for dinner at Nami.  Nami is probably my all time favorite restaurant!  It's only in Anderson, SC but it has the BEST food I have ever eaten.  We went out to eat for Jake's birthday and then headed down to spend Sunday on the lake!  It started out kind of rainy but turned in to a beautiful day!  We got out on the innertube and got plenty of sun.  The puppies had a good time too!  Jess has a dog named Marley also and little Marley and big Marley are the best of friends!  Here are some pictures from our weekend!

Me and Jess were the first to ride on the innertube!

This was Jake's first time on an innertube!!  He looks so nervous ha!

I tried a new move...no hands haha!

Jessie and Jake!

David was the only one who could drive the boat, so he was "captain" for the day!

Me and the pups!  The Marley's liked to sit on someone's lap when the boat was moving!!

I hope you all had a great weekend!

The One with Friday Faves Week 2

Hey guys!  So I'm a week late starting Friday Faves, but I'm excited about it!  This weeks' topic is Favorite websites you visit!

If you want to participate, you can go here to read about future week topics and maybe just read the blog- it's really sweet:)

So here goes!  My all-time favorite website is....
I really don't know why I like it so much, but I guess it's because I'm nosy and want to see what everyone is up to!  I literally get on and check facebook 5 times a day.  Or more.  It's a sickness y'all.

My other favorite website is www.scyorkiepoos.com !!  I found this website, probably about 2 years ago and just found myself looking at the updates every week!  The time wasn't right for me to get a puppy, but last summer I just gave in and this is where I got Marley from!  Nancy is the "mommy" to all of the dogs and I was amazed at how well-kept these dogs are and Marley was perfectly healthy when we brought him home and got him checked by the vet:)  If anyone is looking for a yorkiepoo in the southeast, I highly recommend visiting Nancy!  You can get yourself a precious angel that looks like this-
Yes, he's pretty much perfect, but we all know that by now don't we?? Haha!

The 3rd website I visit pretty much daily is CNN's online website, basically just to catch up with the news.  When I was in college, I found myself being completely unaware of the world outside my college town so I got in the habit of checking CNN daily to find out what was really going on:)  And I guess that habit has just stuck with me!

Well those are my websites and I hope you enjoy them just as much as I do! :)  Happy Friday!

The One Where We're 17 Again!

Have any of you in the blog world seen the movie "17 Again"??  It has Zac Efron** and Matthew Perry in it.  I watched it tonight with my mom and it is actually a good movie!  It's pretty funny and although it's kind of weird how dad turns back to his old self, the end of the movie is really cute!  If you haven't seen it, you definitely should:)

**I'm not gonna lie...when the movie first came on it was like identical to High School Musical with Zac Efron dancing all around and I'm pretty sure we're all tired of High School Musical...

Today was a pretty easy day.  My mom (she's a teacher) had to move classrooms for the like 3rd year in a row, so I went up to help her move all of her stuff.  However, the dimwit who was in her class before her (and had the nerve to get mad because she wants to wait until the last minute) hasn't moved out most of her junk so there was only so much we could do today.  I had a doctor appointment and then came the highlight of my day: Starbucks with granddad.

If you've read previous posts you know that one of my favorite things to do is go to starbucks with my granddaddy:)  It's kind of become our "thing" and we always enjoy doing that together!  I ended up staying at my grandparents house for a while this afternoon and having margaritas and sitting on the back porch.  It was really nice getting to catch up with the g'rents:)

I suppose this post is pretty boring and full of useless blog information so I'm going to end here!  Ha, tomorrow though I'm starting "Friday Faves" from Mis over at It's Almost Naptime!
So be looking forward to that!  Have a wonderful night and tomorrow is Friday! :)

The One Where Marley Chewed Up the Phone.

Yes, Marley has not been a very good puppy tonight.  We came home from David's today and he has been a little....rambunctious.  Or a lot.  He and Macy have been chasing after one another, biting at one another, growling (in a playful way!) at one another and finally, I had had enough.  So I told them to go find something "productive" to do, because, you know, dogs really listen.  Really, they do.  Macy laid down to nap.

Want to know what Marley did?

He chewed. up. the. cordless. phone.

Yep.  He did.  He was all quiet and just chomping away and I thought, "well look at that! He's being so good!  He went and got a bone!" (and I'm fairly certain he knew what I was thinking and just laughed at me!)

Then I saw the black pieces.  Oh the horror.  The entire antenna was just eaten to bits.  And he looked satisfied.  Until he got in trouble.  Then he moped a little (with his ears down the whole time and if he had a tail I'm fairly certain it would have been tucked between his back legs....), kissed me to make up a little, and is now snuggled up right next to me with his paw so preciously laying on my arm, asleep.

Well I can't be mad at him now, can I?!  He kissed me and has his paw on me while he's sleeping!  He's just so darn cute:)**  Nahhhh....I can't be mad at him.  See how cute he is?

Try dealing with that face in real life!  You would crumble too, you would!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Wednesday:)  If you want to talk, don't try to call because, well...my phone has been chewed up.  Just leave me comments here ha!

Erin

**I'm pretty sure he uses this "cuteness" factor to his benefit...

The One With A Little of This And a Little of That

Yesterday when David got off work we met a real estate woman at a home so we could see the inside.  We liked the way it looked online and it was really nice when we got there too...but I was really NOT impressed with the kitchen.  I love to cook and the kitchen was pretty much just a square.  Blah.  We have looked at other houses we really like and the kitchens were nicer.  We really like the neighborhood this house is in though.  There was another one for sale that we really liked, but it's under contract now so that's out of the question now.  We looked online again last night and found some other neighborhoods to look in so when David gets off work this evening we are going to go look in those neighborhoods!

We are also going to go watch David play soccer! (We being me and Marley!)  David has joined a soccer league around here and one of his old coaches is actually on the team too!  They are apparently pretty good so Marley and I thought we would go out to watch:)  I'm excited about it because I've missed getting to watch David play soccer.

Well that's pretty much it for my day.  I've just been packing since I'm leaving tomorrow for a few days- oh- and I'm watching My Girl.  If you've never seen that movie, its a great movie:)

The One With The Weekend of Busted Elbows

First, I'm so glad to have caught up on everyone's blogs!  David and I didn't get back from the lake last night until about 10:30 pm because we hit a wall of traffic halfway home.  Aaargh.  Not what you need when you are pooped from a weekend at the lake! We were so tired so I read the blogs and went to bed.  But, we had an absolute blast at the lake this weekend!  The "crowd" at the lake this weekend ended up being me, David, Scott, Kenny, David's parents, David's mom's friend, Susan, and her boyfriend.  On Saturday night, David's poppa joined us for dinner so that was a nice surprise!:)

Saturday was a great day and we innertubed, laid out, and rode the jetski!  David and Kenny wakeboarded a couple times but I was too chicken to try it ha!  I really think it was probably for the best too since, you know, I probably would have face planted.  I made dinner Saturday night- Cornflake Chicken- I was going to take pictures but in the hustle and bustle of a house full of people, I simply forgot!  But it turned out really good and we had corn off the cob, green beans, and wild rice to go along with it!  Everyone seemed to really enjoy it so that made me happy!  I'd have hated to cook a meal and everyone not like it ha!

Sunday was just as good a day as Saturday!  We mostly innertubed all day...leading to the post title of busted elbows.  Everyone innertubed so much over the weekend that we all left with our elbows rubbed raw!  Mine even bled ha!  But it was totally worth it!  Hopefully they scab up and heal quickly because I think we are going back to the lake next weekend haha!  We stayed at the lake until about 7:00pm, said goodbye to Kenny (by the way, David really enjoyed having his "bff" there...they had a lot of fun trying to throw each other off the innertubes!) and Scott, and headed home.

Today David is back at work and I am doing some chores around the house (like laundry...amazing how that stuff piles up...) and waiting for my boy to get home!  We are going to look at a house that's for sale after he gets off work so I'm looking forward to that!

Here are some pictures from the weekend!

David taking his mom on a ride on the jetski!

The boys (Scott, Kenny, David) looking goofy in the goggles diving for Scott's lost sunglasses!

Kenny trying to throw David off the innertube!

David flew on top of Scott making a "Scott Sandwich"!

Spending some quality time on the lake with my boy:)

Kenny and Erin *love* David:)!!

Erin

P.S.- and possibly the BEST part of my day is that I have Marley back!  My mom dropped him off around 10:30 am this morning and we have been having so much now that we are back together:) Ha!

The One With the Family Cook Out!

Believe it or not folks, we had the first family cook-out in years today!  And when I mean first cook-out...I mean where everyone in the family was there!  See, for the last 4-5 years, at least one of the grandkids has been gone off to school for some cook-outs, but this year, all kids were able to make it and boy was it fun!  It took me back to my "younger years" (ha, like I'm so old?!) when we were growing up and always at my grandparents house!  It was a nice evening:)  Amy is going off to school this year and Scott is going back to school...so I'll be the one left behind this year:(  Oh well...more food for me right?!  Dinner was delicious and we ate out on the back deck because the weather was so nice!  Marley was just running around the yard and all of a sudden the backyard got really quiet.  We started calling for Marley and looking through the bazillion bushes in the backyard and he was nowhere to be found.  NOWHERE.  Marley had run away.  Every family member was scrambling around the neighborhood looking for him and right as we got back, Amy saw him come back into the yard through a little hole in the fence.  Well.  He had just had himself a little adventure.  But I can guarantee that won't be happening again, ha!  Here are a few pictures from tonight...not many though because we were too busy socializing:)

Sweet little Amy! :)

Me and Amy!!  Always have to get the girl pictures:)

Yup.  That's my cousin. Ha :)

Tonight is being spent on packing and making sure I have everything ready to head to the lake!  Like I've been saying for the past few posts, there is a big get together at the lake this weekend.  I'll be riding down tomorrow with my cousin Scott (who will head back to school once the weekend is over!) and I'll ride back with David!  I had made the plan a while ago to cook dinner for everyone on Saturday night so I've got to make sure I have everything ready...I'll be cooking for 12 people so wish me luck!! :)  I'll need it ha!

I'll take lots of pictures this weekend so you can see the ohsomuch fun we are sure to encounter:)  Again...if you've read before, I won't have internet so you'll just have to wait until Sunday night...or maybe even Monday!  What are you all doing this weekend?  Something fun I hope!

Gotta run finish packing!

The One Where I'm Done, I'm Done, I'm Done!!

I am officially done with my summer courses!  I had my nutrition final today...it took me 45 minutes for 100 questions.  I'm not worried because I did great on the other 3 tests and I think I did well on this one!  But man is it a relief to be done with summer courses:)  Now I can just relax and enjoy the rest of my summer!

My brain has just started shutting down ha!  I am so looking forward to my Harry Potter movie tonight and a bowl of popcorn!  This weekend is the lake with David and family/friends.  Look for some lake pictures at the beginning of next week!  I'm sorry this post is all over the place...I'm going to relax now ha! :)

The One with Aggrivation

I'm a little on the aggravated side right now.  I came home from David's today because 1. I have my nutrition final tomorrow and 2. two little girls I babysit for wanted to do something this evening.  It is getting harder and harder to leave David.  We have such a good time when we are together.  We do laundry together, we cook together, clean together...and we goof off while we do all of that.  It's just fun.  So like I said, it's getting harder to come back home each time.  Which kills me because school hasn't even started and I know I'm going to get busy between school, and...unfortunately work.  When will we ever see each other? :(

Well today was just as hard and when I got home my mom wasn't here, which was okay.  But her dog Macy was.  (Macy is the golden retriever in the pictures).  Macy is basically 80 lbs. of lazy dog and she's very stubborn.  Macy and Marley get along for the most part.  Marley bites Macy's feet to get her to play and she doesn't play too rough with him.  Except for one thing:  Anytime Marley is getting more attention, Macy gets pissed.  She starts chasing him around the room and trying to nip at his neck.  He hunkers down, rolls on his back, and hides underneath chairs.  The vet says she's "trying to assert her dominance" but I say she's pissed that he's an attention hog.  Either way I don't like it because he is so small and she could really do him some damage if she's not careful.

In her rampaging fit of running after Marley to attach herself to his neck, she ran smack into me.  This dog can break kneecaps people, I have no doubt.  She does what she wants, when she wants.  She ran smack into me and her toenail DUG into my big toe.  I crumpled into a crying heap on the floor holding my tiny toe that this 80 lb. lug had just bruised to bits.  I was so mad.  I had a golden retriever growing up and she NEVER acted like this.*  She never even ran into people!  And she certainly didn't half decapitate your toe on a wild rampage, whether she meant to or not.

So all in all, this has been a terrible home coming.  And I hate to say that because I love my home.  I miss David, I miss part of my toe, and I loathe that stupid dog.  She needs to learn  a) to CALM DOWN FOR GOODNESS SAKES. and b) that Marley is not a play toy.  Even though he may look like one.

I need a nap.  Happy Tuesday guys!

*I may be slightly partial to my golden retriever growing up.  I mean I'm an only child and she basically was my "sibling".  Also, she basically acted human and Macy most definitely does not.

The One Where it's Shark Week!!

Okay y'all.  I hate the ocean.  I hate the lake.  I've stated all of that before.  BUT.... I LOVE SHARK WEEK!!!!  It is officially that time of year again!  Shark week is probably one of the main reasons I am scared of the ocean, if we are completely honest.  But I just love all the shows they have, especially the ones about shark attacks because it gives me reason to say, "see?  That's why I don't go in the ocean."  And everyone else agrees.  And all is good in the world.

Aside from shark week starting today, David and had a pretty good Sunday (and so did Marley!).  We woke up late, had some yummy croissants from Trader Joe's for breakfast, and got ready for the day!  It was really gloomy, kind of chilly, and drizzly earlier in the day so we piled in the car and drove around town looking at homes for sale.  David is looking to buy a house within the year or next and let's face it- it's a buyers market!  Marley very much enjoyed today because he got to go on a ride!  We stopped at starbucks where he got 2 very sweet little puppy cookies that he proceeded to bury on my lap!  I , of course, got a grande white mocha- because I don't have braces and can drink more coffee now:)

Marley enjoyed sticking his head out of the window and David and I enjoyed driving around together and looking at homes.  It's fun to plan the future right?!

Chili's for dinner, a little clean out of the fridge, and we are ready to settle down for some more shark week business- and a little ice cream.  Sunday's are the best:)

The One When There Are Clouds in the Sky You'll Get By if You Just SMILE!!!

That's what I've been doing today.  Smiling!  And there have been many clouds (and some sun!)  so even though that line is from a sad song, I made it happy!  Let me just tell you it has been so weird without my braces today!  David and I went to Cosco, Target, and Copper River for dinner and every time I went to smile I felt self conscious because of my "braces"....and then I realized I didn't have any!  What a great feeling that was:)  I guess it will just take some getting used to.

Sooo, this weekend I am spending with David.  Next weekend was supposed to be a huge friend gathering at the lake but for one reason or another some people couldn't come.  So now it will be me, Dave, my cousin Scott, David's parents and David's best friend Kenny!  I am soo thrilled that Kenny is coming because we haven't seen him in such a long time so it will be great to see him!  And I'm sure David will enjoy some quality boy time:)  The big get together has been moved to either the weekend after or the weekend of the 22nd ish?  I have a dr's appointment the Thursday before next weekend and depending on what he tells me, I may not be able to go out in the sun for a few days meaning I wouldn't be able to partake in the weekend!  If I do get to go, though, my friend Jessie and her boyfriend Jake are joining us!  I am so excited about that because I love girl time!  The weekend of the 22nd ish I know I can't go to the lake because....I'm helping my cousin Amy move into college!!!  (In case you don't know where she's going...check out the font color!:)!)  I am so glad she asked me to help her move in, I know I enjoyed have my family help me move in!

Well, Dave and I are hanging some of his framed BMW posters on the wall (well..he's hanging, I'm blogging...) so I guess I should go help him! I haven't had very many pictures on my blogs in the past so I'm leaving you with this sweet one of Marley and Macy a few days ago!

Good friends are the best, aren't they?!  Sweet puppy love:)

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend...and remember-  Keep Smiling!!! :)
